Coach safety card
One page, printed and kept in every kit bag. Safety is this association's strength — this puts it in your hand.
Emergency
- 911 — always first in a real emergency
- Nearest hospital: Taber Health Centre — sample
- Field address: 7301 50 St, Taber (practice: 7201 50 St)
- First aid kit: location to confirm
If a player takes a hit to the head
- Remove the player from play immediately.
- Use the King-Devick baseline if available — a slowed time is a red flag.
- When in doubt, sit them out.
- No return to play without clearance.
- Tell the parent/guardian — same day.
Weather & air quality
- Lightning: clear the field; wait the required time before resuming.
- Extreme cold: follow the cold-weather policy — wind chill matters.
- Poor air / smoke: follow Football Alberta's Air Quality Policy.
- Field status is always at the top of the home page.
Remember
- Every coach is Safe Contact certified.
- Full-contact practice time is limited, on purpose.
- Hawk-tackle technique at every level.
For the board: this is a draft. Emergency numbers, the hospital and the
first-aid location must be confirmed before anyone prints it — do not let a coach carry
placeholder numbers.
